Solarium started out as a personal project of me (Bas de Nooijer) based on issues I encountered in several Solr implementations. I quickly realised this had to be the case for more people and this was a nice opportunity to return something to the opensource community that has made so much possible for me. The project was released on GitHub and later this website was added.
The project may contain some references to my company (Raspberry) but is not (and will never be) a commercial product. I do offer paid support and sponsored development through my company (see Support) but that’s entirely optional.

This PHP library has been made for Solr and links or refers to Solr documentation. But it is not part of the official Apache Solr project or the Apache Software Foundation. All credits for Solr and the Solr documentation go to the Apache Solr project and it’s contributors.
This library tries to follow the Symfony 2 standard and integrates nicely with SF2, but is not an official Symfony component and is not related to Symfony (or any other framework).
